KARACHI: More than 30 mentally deranged patients escaped from a mental hospital in North Nazimabad in Karachi on Friday.
Patients beat the doors of homes
After the patients left the mental hospital, they roamed in the vicinity and beat the doors of surrounding homes with sticks.
They also harmed the cars that were parked in front of these homes.
The group overpowered the hospital’s security guard and beat him before they fled the health facility. A mentally deranged patient was said to have driven off from a vehicle, which was parked a distance away.
Police said that they sent some of the patients back to the health facility after arresting them on Thursday midday. Police, however, said that a large number of the patients have succeeded to escape.
