MANILA: Local officials said that about 30 passengers are feared dead while 40 people have been rescued after a boat capsized in a lake near the Philippine capital on Thursday.
30 Feared Dead as Boat Capsizes in Philippines
According to Philippine News Agency, the Philippine Coast Guard said that MBCA Princess Aya capsized in Binangonan. It added that the mishap occurred around 1 am when the boat was battered by strong winds that caused passengers to panic and fear and group to its port side, causing the boat to sink.

As per media reports, search and rescue operations are underway in the area after the mishap.
