KYIV: Ukraine claimed Sunday an explosion triggered by “local resistance movements” in Russia-controlled Ukrainian city of Melitopol the last day killed Russian army officers at a headquarters of the occupation authorities.
According to AFP, Melitopol, with a pre-war population of about 150,000 people, was arrested early following Moscow invaded Ukraine in February in 2022.
“At least 3 officers of the Russian army were killed” as a result of the action, conducted by men of the local resistance movement,” Ukraine’s defence ministry claimed on Telegram. AFP reported that it did not verify the claim of the Ukrainian officials.
