LAHORE: Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim, who have rescinded their retirement from international cricket, are gearing up to participate in the physical fitness camp at Kakul. They will be accompanied by Usman Khan and the remaining 26 players in preparation for the forthcoming T20 World Cup, scheduled to kick off in June this year.

A total of 29 players are selected to engage in the fitness camp in Abbottabad, established in collaboration with the Pakistan Army, starting from March 26 (Tuesday) until April 8, as announced by the PCB.

The camp, which the players are expected to join today, “is strategically designed to ready them for the upcoming series and tournaments, including the home T20I series against New Zealand, the T20I series against Ireland and England,” the PCB said.

Focused on fostering team unity and enhancing the physical and mental resilience of the players, the camp aims to ensure the players are well-prepared to confront the forthcoming challenges, the board further added.

This announcement follows a recent decision by the board to reconstitute the national selection committee, which now comprises seven members, including former cricketers Mohammad Yousuf, Wahab Riaz, Abdul Razzaq, and Asad Shafiq, along with the head coach, captain, and an analyst.
