266th Urs of Baba Bhullay Shah Concludes

KASUR, Pakistan: The 266th annual three-day Urs celebrations of Hazrat Baba Bhullay Shah, the renowned Sufi poet of the subcontinent, concluded with the closing prayer on Sunday late at night.

Hundreds of thousands of his followers nationwide flocked to the shrine to honour the famous Punjabi Sufi poet. On the occasion of Urs, those who adhered to Bhullay Shah’s doctrine and literary works showed their love and adoration for him by reciting verses from the Quran, placing flowers, and spreading sheets to the rhythm of drums.

A-division Division SHO Iftikhar Ahmad Joya and District Police Officer (DPO) Kasur Tariq Aziz Sindho made stringent security measures. Visitors had to pass through walk-through gates with metal detectors, and CCTV cameras were set up in a control room to monitor the event.

Mohsin Naqvi, the interim chief minister of Punjab, the chief secretary, the RPO for the Sheikhupura region, the DPO for Kasur, and others placed chador on the grave on the first day of Urs. —APP
