21 New Corona Cases Reported Across Pakistan in Last 24 Hours: NIH

ISLAMABAD: Health officials on Wednesday said that during the last 24 hours, 21 new Coronavirus cases were reported from different areas in the country.

According to the data shared by the NIH (National Institute of Health), the case positivity ratio was 1.18 percent while eight patients were under observation in critical condition.

Meanwhile, no death was reported from the Coronavirus in the last 24 hours while 1,780 Covid-19 tests were conducted.

Precautionary measures on corona cases in the country

Moreover, Minister for National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination, Abdul Qadir Patel expressed that the government has strengthened and protected the role of Border and Health Services in the country to deal with any sub-variant of Covid-19.

He further said there was a surveillance system at all airports and other entry points of the country adding that there would be rapid tests and screening of passengers at all entrances and airports. The minister informed that about 90 percent of the population in the country has already got vaccinated.

“An efficient system with a suitable management team is fully functional in Pakistan to remain vigilant and is ready to have an emergency plan to deal with any sub-variant of Covid-19,” Qadir Patel added.

He said the Border and Health Services Pakistan was trying hard to ensure the implementation of international health regulations.

The minister said that in case of any uneven situation, the health system was fully prepared and equipped to deal with any sub-variant of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 including BF.7 in Pakistan.
