ISLAMABAD: Over 20 prominent Chinese companies offered more than 500 job opportunities to Pakistani youth at the “Job Fair 2025,” held at the Pak-China Friendship Centre, Islamabad.

The event, jointly organised by the China Chamber of Commerce in Pakistan (CCCPK) and the National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), was supported by the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan.

Under the theme “Bridging Skills; Building Futures,” the fair aimed to connect Pakistani technical and vocational graduates with Chinese enterprises operating locally.

It marked a significant step in strengthening Pakistan-China cooperation, particularly in aligning workforce skills with industrial demand.

Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong and Pakistan’s Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui attended as chief guests.

Key speakers included Minister of State Wajiha Qamar, Minister Counsellor Yang Guangyuan, CCCPK Chairman Wang Huihua, and NAVTTC Chairperson Gulmina Bilal.

Harnessing youth potential

Qamar highlighted that the event signalled Pakistan’s readiness to harness youth potential, noting the inclusion of girls, boys, madrassah students, and differently-abled individuals in high-tech skill training under the URAAN Pakistan Programme. “China walks with us like family,” she remarked.

Yang noted the fair as the first joint effort of its kind and linked it to the second phase of CPEC, which emphasises manufacturing and job creation. He praised Pakistani youth as the country’s greatest asset and confirmed that many Chinese firms plan to expand operations locally.

Wang shared that over 30,000 Pakistanis are currently employed by CCCPK-member companies and reaffirmed the job creation impact of CPEC, beyond infrastructure development.

The event concluded successfully, reinforcing Pakistan-China partnership and a shared commitment to empowering youth through meaningful employment opportunities.
