18-Member Caretaker Cabinet of Pakistan Take Oath

ISLAMABAD: The President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi, on Thursday administered the oath to the 18-member caretaker cabinet of Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar.

The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Presidency, where President Dr. Arif Alvi administered the oath to the members of the federal caretaker cabinet. The ceremony was attended by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar and many other prominent figures.

Among those who took the oath are Senator Sarfaraz Bugti, retired Lieutenant General Anwar Ali Haider, Dr. Umar Saif, Murtaza Solangi, Gohar Ijaz, Shahid Ashraf Tarar, Shamshad Akhtar, and Dr. Nadeem Jan. Others who were sworn in include Ahmed Irfan, Aneeq Ahmed, actor Jamal Shah, Jalil Abbas Jilani, and Irfan Ahmed Aslam, who are also set to assume cabinet positions.

Members of Pakistan’s Caretaker Cabinet

Senator Sarfaraz Bugti, a former home minister of Balochistan, is likely to be appointed as the caretaker federal interior minister. Dr. Umar Saif will be the caretaker IT and telecom minister. He previously chaired the Punjab Information Technology Board.

Lieutenant General retired Syed Anwar Ali Haider will take up the crucial position of defense minister, while Gohar Ejaz has been selected to serve as the caretaker minister for industries.

Syed Anwar Ali Haider will serve as defense minister, whereas Gohar Ejaz as minister for industries. According to reports, Dr Nadeem Jan will be the health minister. Dr. Nadeem Jan’s to lead health ministry.

Additionally, senior journalist Murtaza Solangi, who previously served as the director-general of Radio Pakistan, has also taken the oath and will be responsible for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife of Kashmiri leader Yaseen Malik, is set to assume the role of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Human Rights.

Shahid Ashraf is assigned to oversee the postal services ministry while Jalil Abbas Jilani, a former diplomat, has secured the foreign affairs portfolio.
