MEXICO: Local officials said on Sunday that at least 18 Mexican tourists were killed and two dozen wounded when their tourist bus plunged into a ravine in state of Nayarit.

AFP reported that the bus, from a private company, was carrying tourists on a 220-kilometer journey from Guadalajara in state of Jalisco to the beach of Guayabitos in Nayarit. The accident happened when the bus went off the road, civil protection official Pedro Nunez said. The reason of the crash was not known, reports said. Pedro Nunez said that all the passengers were Mexican citizens.
