LAHORE: At least 18 people were killed and 1,330 others sustained injuries in 1,227 road accidents during the last 24 hours in Punjab.
According to official data, 732 seriously injured persons were shifted to different hospitals for medical treatment. Whereas, the rescue medical teams, provided medical treatment to 598 people with minor injuries at the incident site.
Lahore Tops the List of Road Accidents
The data showed that 535 passengers, 44 underage drivers, 620 drivers, and 193 pedestrians were among the victims of the road traffic accidents.
Furthermore, in Lahore, 306 road accidents were reported. In Lahore, 328 people were affected by road accidents. Lahore was followed by Multan with 90 road accidents which affected 95 people. Faislabad was the third city on the list with 90 road accidents which affected 93 people.
Motorbikes Involved in Majority of Road Accidents
According to the official data, 135 motorcars, 1,073 motorbikes, 30 vans, 85 auto-rickshaws, 16 passenger buses, 27 trucks, and 106 other vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in these road accidents.
