ISLAMABAD: National Institute of Health (NIH) announced on Monday that 16 new Coronavirus cases had been recorded across Pakistan during the previous 24 hours.
According to the National Institute of Health (NIH) data, the case-positive ratio was 0.72 percent, with nine patients in serious condition. In the last 24 hours, one death was recorded from the Coronavirus in Lahore, and 2,221 Covid-19 tests were performed.
Meanwhile, Abdul Qadir Patel, Minister for National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination, stated that the government has improved the role of Pakistan’s Border and Health Services in dealing with any sub-variant of Covid-19.
Covid-19 monitoring in Pakistan
According to the minister, every point of entry into the country, including airports, is monitored. He stated that all airports would conduct quick tests and screenings of travelers, adding that 90 percent of the country’s population has already received the Covid-19 vaccine.
The minister also stated that the country has a fully functional system with a proper management team set up to be attentive and to prepare an emergency plan to cope with any sub-variant of Covid-19.
He stated that the Border and Health Services Pakistan was ensuring that international health regulations were followed.
In case of an emergency, the country’s health system was completely equipped to deal with any sub-variant of the Omicron form of Covid-19, including BF.7.
