157 New Coronavirus Cases Surface in India

ISLAMABAD/NEW DEHLI: At least 157 new coronavirus cases surfaced in India during the last 24 hours, taking the total number of active cases to 3,421 in the country.

According to the data released by India’s Union Health Ministry, the cases were relatively less than the previous day’s cases of 196.

Coronavirus cases surge in India

Following the coronavirus cases surge in China India is ramping up anti-covid measures, the government said RT-PCR test would be made mandatory for passengers from China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand.

The Govt has also asked union states to conduct mock drills to ensure the readiness of health facilities including medical oxygen generation plants.

After a man who recently returned from China tested positive in Uttar Pradesh, state Health Minister Brajesh Pathak appealed to those who had recently returned from foreign travel to stay at home till they get Covid-19 tets. Special arrangements have been made for the RTPCR and repeat antigen test at Gorakhpur railway station in Uttar Pradesh, and RTPCR and antigen tests are being done there.
