153,000 Saudis Employed in Private Sector During 2024

RIYADH: The Director General of Saudi Arabia’s Human Resources Development Fund, Turki bin Abdullah Al-Jawini, has said that the fund helped more than 153,000 Saudi men and women to get employment in the private sector during the first half of 2024, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.

He pointed out that the fund disbursed SAR3.79 billion to private sector establishments for training, empowerment support programs and employment, during this period.

He added that 1.4 million Saudi men and women and some 100,000 establishments operating in vital sectors in the Kingdom benefited from the program.

Al-Jawini also stressed that the fund is keen to keep pace with the development in all fields in Saudi Arabia, as well as with the needs of the business sector and the demand for a skilled national workforce.

He said the fund is aimed at developing Saudis’ skills, boosting their participation in the labor market and encouraging the private sector to contribute to localization.

He noted the Human Resources Development Fund also worked to expand partnerships with entities concerned with training, empowering and employing the national workforce, and increasing their continuity and competitiveness in the labor market.

Al-Jawini added that the fund’s services and programs have helped increase the benefit of individuals and establishments, and stressed the fund’s continuous efforts to keep pace with labor market changes and requirements.

The fund is also working on developing training, empowerment, and guidance support programs targeting national personnel, contributing to achieving the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 concerning human capacity development and labor market strategy.
