RAWALPINDI: During the last 24 hours, as many as 15 new dengue cases were reported in Rawalpindi, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 116.
According to Dr. Sajjad Mehmood, the District Coordinator for Epidemics Prevention and Control (DCEPC), six of the new cases have been reported from the Chaklala Cantonment, three from the Municipal Corporation, five from the Potohar Town Urban region, and one from the Cantonment area Rawalpindi.
Dr. Mehmood said that 35 patients were admitted to the City’s allied hospitals, of which 24 were confirmed cases, and 77 were sent homes after providing initial treatment.
Dr. Sajjad said that the district administration had lodged 82 FIRs, sealed 14 premises, issued tickets to 23, and a fine of Rs 100,000 was imposed for violating dengue SOPs during the previous 24 hours.
According to the health officer, dengue cases are being reported throughout the district, and the health authority is working with allied departments to stop the disease’s spread. —APP
