The incident occurred in the eastern city of Bhairab when a freight train collided with a passenger train traveling in the opposite direction. The collision led to the derailment of two passenger carriages, trapping passengers and causing significant damage.

“We have recovered 15 bodies, and many are injured,” stated Sadiqur Rahman, a government administrator in Bhairab. He feared that the death toll could rise further as rescue operations continue.
