LAHORE: Tragedy continues to unfold in Punjab as in the latest grim update, 13 additional children have succumbed to pneumonia, according to reports from the Health Department.
Over the past 24 hours, Punjab has witnessed an alarming surge in pneumonia cases, with 304 new infections reported. This surge adds to the already staggering numbers, as data from the Health Department reveals that a total of 29,603 children have been afflicted with pneumonia this year alone.
Among those affected, 405 children have tragically lost their lives to this respiratory illness. These figures underscore the urgent need for concerted efforts to address the underlying factors contributing to the spread and severity of pneumonia in Punjab.
The Punjab Health Department has issued an appeal to parents, stressing the importance of ensuring their children complete the immunization course.
