LAHORE: The Punjab government on Monday told Lahore High Court that 123 policemen are deployed at the former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s security in the provincial capital.
Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh of the LHC heard the plea of Imran Khan for video link appearance in the court cases. At the outset of the hearing, the Punjab government presented its report regarding the security of PTI chief.

The LHC was further informed that the matter of providing security to the PTI chief was reviewed in a meeting. Imran Khan’s counsel Azhar Siddique sought time from the court to consult on the report submitted by the Punjab govt with his client. The further hearing of the case was later adjourned until March 15.
Earlier, PTI chief Imran Khan written a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Ata Bandial saying that he was facing threats from certain quarters. In his letter to the Chief Justice, Imran Khan stated that he was continuously facing cases and threats after the ouster of his government and an assassination attempt was also made on him.
