1.19 Million House Workers Enter Saudi Labor Market in Five Years

ISLAMABAD: A considerable increase in the number of domestic workers in Saudi Arabia during the past 5 years was recorded, reaching 1.19 million.

According to Okaz/Saudi Gazette monitoring, the strength of male and female domestic employees in the Kingdom stood at nearly 3.6 million.

The total number of domestic employees who entered the Saudi labour market during the past 5 years, from 2018 to 2022, accounted for nearly 1.19 million, equivalent to about 33.02% of the total number of employees classified as domestic workers.

The number of male house workers who entered the labour market during the last 5 years stood at nearly 957,000 workers, according to Saudi Gazette.

This brought the total percentage of those entering the labour market during that period to about 36.38% of the total male employees, reaching 2.63 million.

The number of working females reached 233,000, equivalent to 23.94% of the total working women, whose current number stood at 972,000.

Drivers top with 1.78 million

Drivers have the highest share of the tally of house workers, as their number accounted for 1.78 million men drivers and 119 female drivers.
