KIEV, Ukraine: Ukraine’s military warned early Thursday that a group of Russian bombers had taken off from a base in Russia, posing a threat of missile attacks.
“The take-off of several Tu-95MS from Olenya Airport (Murmansk Region, Russian Federation) was recorded,” the Ukrainian Air Force said in a post on Telegram.
The Air Force also announced the takeoff of Soviet-era strategic bombers earlier this month and in January.
In late December, Russia used aircraft to launch a wave of strikes across Ukrainian cities, including the capital, killing 39 people.
