RAWALPINDI: Two soldiers of Pakistan Army were martyred while a terrorist was killed in two separate incidents in north western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, a military statement said on Friday.
The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in the statement said an intelligence-based operation was conducted in general area Tirah, Khyber District and after intense exchange of fire, one terrorist was killed, while two terrorists got injured and were arrested by security forces.
It said arms and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorists, who were actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and target killing of innocent civilians in the area.
ISPR further said that during another incident, an Improvised Explosive Device exploded in Sarwekai, South Waziristan District and resultantly two brave soldiers; Sepoy Abdul Karim (age: 23 years, resident of District Khyber) and Sepoy Banaras Khan (age: 23 years, resident of District Orakzai) embraced martyrdom.
It said sanitization operation is being carried out to eradicate the terrorists present in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are resolute to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.
