TEHRAN:  Iran has told the United States (US) not to get involved following its missile attack on Israel, Iranian media quotes Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi as saying, Reuters news agency reported.

Reuters reported that Iran exercised “self-defence” against Israel and its action is ended unless the “Israeli regime decides to invite further retaliation,” Iran’s Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Wednesday.

Iran launched a salvo of missiles on Tuesday against Israel in retaliation for the killing of several leaders of Iran-aligned groups. Araqchi stated that the US was told by Iran not to interfere after its attack on Israel.

Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency cited Araqchi as saying, “Message exchanges do not mean coordination. No message has been sent prior to our response to Israel. Following this response, a warning was conveyed through Switzerland telling US that it was our right to self-defence and that we do not intend to continue the attack,”.

The Iranian FM said Iran’s action against Israel came following exercising tremendous restraint to give space for a truce in the Gaza Strip.

Iran’s foreign ministry has called earlier on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to take “meaningful action” to stop threats against regional security and peace.
