ISLAMABAD: Security forces have killed at least four terrorists in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province.
According to sources familiar with the development, the terrorists associated with Fitna al-Hindustan, also known as Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), were neutralised in a successful operation carried out on the night between July 19 and 20, 2025.
“The terrorist associated with the ‘Fitna al-Hindustan’ group were targeted after their movement was detected in the region,” sources said.
The operation took place in the Pehrood area of Balochistan, sources confirmed.
Additionally, the flag of Fitna al-Hindustan and weapons were seized from the terrorists, sources added.
A clearance operation is currently ongoing in the area, they noted.
Spike in attacks
Balochistan has seen an uptick in terrorist attacks in recent months, with Pakistan blaming India for sponsoring terror outfits.
A devastating armed attack on a passenger bus in Balochistan’s Kalat district left three members of a musical group dead and at least 13 members injured on Wednesday.
The group, which was en route from the port city of Karachi to provincial capital Quetta for a private performance, came under fire late Tuesday night when unidentified assailants opened fire on their vehicle near the Johan area of Kalat.
SSP Shahzad told newsmen that three people who lost their lives in the bus firing in Kalat included famous qawal Ahmed Hussain Sabri, his son Ahmed Raza Sabri, who left for Quetta along with other musicians of the group in a bus.
“My brother, nephew, and one musician were killed in the armed attack,” famous Karachi-based Qawal Majid Ali Sabri said.
He said his brother, nephew, and other musicians were travelling to Quetta for a performance at a wedding ceremony.
“My close relatives and musicians are among the injured,” added Majid Sabri.
