DUBAI, UAE: Human rights groups report that the Houthis in Yemen have recruited around 10,000 children since conflict began in 2014.

According to the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor and SAM Organization for Rights and Freedoms, the child soldiers recruitment occurred between 2014 and 2021.

The recruits, primarily between 13 and 25 years old, include hundreds of minors under 18. The UN has investigated nearly 1,851 cases of child recruitment by the Houthis since 2010.

The group has been on the UN’s list for grave violations against children since 2011, including recruitment, killing, maiming, and attacks on schools and hospitals.
