ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy Ship PNS SAIF, currently on a port call at Colombo for participation in International Fleet Review-25, has swiftly launched Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations for communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah and subsequent torrential rains in Sri Lanka.

A press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued on Saturday stated that the ship provided humanitarian relief supplies to Sri Lankan authorities to support ongoing national relief efforts.

The aid included food staples, Meals Ready to Eat (MREs), dry rations, first-aid kits, emergency medicines, and essential equipment.

Cyclone Ditwah, one of the most severe storms to hit Sri Lanka in recent years, caused widespread flooding, landslides, destruction of homes, and displacement of thousands of residents.

Entire communities in coastal and low-lying areas were severely affected.

The Pakistan Navy has affirmed that it will continue providing humanitarian assistance in line with evolving requirements.

This prompt action highlights Pakistan Navy’s dedication to international obligations, regional stability, and solidarity with friendly nations in times of crisis.
