Pakistan: 5.4 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Swat

The earthquake caused panic among residents, forcing them to come out of their homes. However, there have been no damages or casualties reported from the tremor, so far.
Earthquakes are not uncommon in Pakistan due to its geographical location on the boundary of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates. The Indian plate’s northward push into the Eurasian plate makes large parts of South Asia seismically active.
