Nepali Climber Sets New Record with 29th Ascent of Mount Everest

KATHMANDU, Nepal:  Renowned Nepali climber Kami Rita Sherpa, widely known as the ‘Everest Man,’ achieved a remarkable feat on Sunday by successfully summiting Mount Everest for the 29th time.

The 54-year-old Sherpa guide, who holds numerous Everest climbing records, surpassed his own previous achievement of 28 summits in the spring season.

Despite initially stating no specific plans for additional ascents, Kami Rita hinted at the possibility of climbing the peak twice during this expedition.

Accompanying an expedition organized by the ‘Seven Summit Treks,’ he reached the summit at 7:25 AM (NST) on Sunday, as confirmed by the Department of Tourism officials.

The news was shared with excitement by Seven Summit Treks on Instagram, acknowledging Kami Rita’s remarkable accomplishment and officially recognizing him as the individual with the “Most Successful Ascent of Mt. Everest” in history.

Kami Rita began his expedition from Kathmandu in late May, guiding a team of around 28 climbers. His unparalleled achievements make him a legendary figure in Sagarmatha climbing history, surpassing previous records and setting new milestones for aspiring climbers worldwide.
